Exactly as the title says. My computer won't POST, the lights turn on and fans spin for a moment, then it dies. I had gotten a USB hub/drive and plugged it into the power supply's 6pin PCIe using an adapter to SATA, which plugged into the USB drive. The USB drive also was plugged into the motherboard USB 3.0 header.

Did I fry my motherboard or short my PSU?

Solution
it should have worked very strange.

theirs no post codes either?

my only suggestion is to start attempting to test parts individually in another system if possible

Nope. Won't even POST. Fans and lights will go for about 3 seconds, then sputter on and off or shut off entirely.

Should 6pin PCIe just never be used for anything besides GPU? It had 12/5/3.3 rails, so I figured it'd be ok to convert to SATA power.

No post codes at all. Could it have been static shock? Last straw for a failing PSU?

I will start testing PSU tomorrow when I can get the tools for it.
