Problem with electricity...?

Alright this is going to come off as a *very* odd one. :??:

So I have a metal desk. We all know about static electricity, right? I should think so. ;) Anyways, by walking across the carpet in my room with socks on almost every time I build up static electricity. This is usually discharged accidentally on my METAL computer desk when I sit down.

When this discharge happens, my PC peripherals, that are sitting on the desk, go wonky. Usually my monitor flashes- screen goes black for a few seconds then comes back on, my mouse turns off, and my keyboard turns off. Mouse is a Razer Naga 2014, and keyboard is a Logitech washable k310 (I know, crap keyboard). This problem is fixed by rebooting my computer. Reboots aren't really that big of a deal because I harness the magical speed of an SSD, but it does get extremely annoying when you have to stand up to grab something and sit back down- shock the PC, then have the mouse and keyboard shut off in the middle of a standoff in Planetside2.

Would this have anything to do with my PSU? My computer's metal case is touching the side of my metal desk. Doesn't seem to affect the PC though... as far as I can tell. PSU is a Corsair HX750.

Thanks fellow tech geeks!
