Its an AMD FX 6300. Being AMD it has those ~100 tiny gold pins on the bottom of the chip. I managed to lose the plastic shell packaging that it came in, and now I realy don't know how to get it to my customer without bending any pins. HOW DO?

Solution
get some foam rubber, or "open celled foam" -- NOT styrofoam.
Cut a square out to fit your chip and carefully push the pins into the foam.

Wrap in bubble wrap, get a small box from the local fed-ex/ups store and send it off.

you can buy things like that on ebay for 0.99C but not sure how long it takes for shipping.
maybe you could use some double tame on the top of the cpu and stick it down in a small container making sure the pins aren't touching and then pack it in with some newspaper (making sure nothing touches the cpu pins) then get a box from the post office and pack that container in there with more newspaper and see if you can get a fragile sticker put on the box to make sure its not thrown around too much.

good luck!

It has nearly 1,000 pins. You should have thought of this before you sold the cpu. The only sure fire way to protect a cpu is with a clamshell. Foam is iffy unless you know what you are doing.
