Sound Not Working Through Front Audio Jacks

So, I bought a computer for Christmas, and it works fine. Except for the front audio jack. The back audio jack detects when I put my headphones in there, but the front doesn't come up. It has a big red X on the audio when I plug in my headphones to the front audio jack. I installed the newest audio drivers for my mobo, ASRock Z97 Pro 4, and still only the back works. The bios say that the frontal audio jack is enabled, and nothing comes through from the front. Anyone have any solutions? (I'm using Windows 7 64 bit by the way.)

Solution

Yes. The front panel audio connector will plug into a header that looks something like this on the motherboard:

Be sure the correct FP connector is plugged in. There may be 2 connectors on the same cable for different uses. Be sure the one labeled HD AUDIO is the one used.

Okay, so I can't find a HD AUDIO port on my motherboard. I also can't check if theres anything that connects to the front ports because they put a box to restrict the wires from moving. On the mobo I can't find any of the cables above. None of them are labeled. I see white one with no label that has 4x2 ports like AC'97 and its goes near the front jack but I don't know if thats it. I have a ASRock Z97 Pro4 motherboard. Can you tell me where the audio ports on the motherboard should be, like next to the RAM, cpu wire, ect.
