Hi I recently acquired a pair of Sennheiser 598 and was wonder if there is anyway to get them to have virtual surround sound with certain sound cards or drivers. I'm not very well versed in sound cards or anything audio related and with my old logitech headphones it came with built in virtual surround sound. If anyone can point me in the right direction of hardware/software to help get my headphones to have virtual surround sound or if it is just not possible with the headphones I have.

The Hero board has SupremeFX which has sound quality comparable to a decent soundcard. I would suggest buying a DAC with SPDIF. You'll connect it to the optical port in your motherboard, and then connect your 598s to the DAC, which should give some spectacular sound.

To enable it go to Control Panel>Sound. Click on Realtek Digital Output(Optical) and Set Default. Then you can right click it>Properties>Advanced tab. Then change the default format to DTS Interactive (5.1 Surround).
