Hello, I just made a new build under a month ago with the Evga G2 750W PSU, which is supposed to be a high quality PSU.
When the computer is turned off, but power still is connected, it makes this high pitched tinnitus noise. It goes away immediately when I power up the computer.

It's not THAT loud, but if the room is quiet, you can definetly hear it when sitting a couple of meters away from it.
I am 100% sure the noise is coming from the PSU.

Is this just some kind of coil whine or what? What is the reason for it? I could understand if it was from a low quality PSU...
Should I just get a replacement?

Sounds like coil whine. Even high end units can suffer from it. It is grounds for an RMA though so send it back if you want.

Send it back for RMA. Any unwanted sound is a defect plain and simple.
To be sure, isolate the psu by taking it out from the build then turning it on by shorting the black and green pins with a paperclip.
