I have an IBM 300 GL computer with Windows 95 and I would like to clone the internal hard drive (IDE), including all the programs, to a similar hard drive in case the original HD fails. What would be the correect procedure to follow?

Solution
Get a Clonezilla ISO and burn to CD. Boot from the CD and follow the prompts (accept defaults and use the simple device to device options). Make sure the HDD you clone to is the same size (or larger) than the current HDD.

I would just install the backup HDD into an external enclosure and connect to the PC via USB. Clone the drive and store in a safe place. Very easy.
