I manage networks for two different restaurants and keep running into this problem. The setup is the same in both restaurants. I have a wireless router with a PC and 2 charge card machines wired to it, every once in a while the charge card machines will stop working saying there is no network cable connected. First I check cable connections on both ends, then I unplug and the power on the machines and plug them back in to no avail, I unplugged the router and plugged it back in to no avail, while all this is going on the pc wired to the router is working just fine as is anything connected via wifi, what i end up doing is disable and enable the ethernet adapter on the pc and that magically fixes the charge card machines and i cant figure out why. Both PCs are running windows 7 32 bit. The stores have different ISPs. One store has a Belkin F9K1001 v1 and there is no modem its hooked on to the towns fiber, and the other store has a modem/wireless router provided by the ISP. If anyone could help me come up with a reason why this is happening that would be wonderful.
