On my windows 7 pc, I was just locked out because i lost the admin password. I had to go get it unlocked from my local computer store.
I have the admin account that has no password, and a group admin account that does.(I use the group account.) I don't want to put a password on a admin account again. So is there a way of removing the admin account form the login screen. so that unwanted users, my brother and sister can't get on. so it can only be used through safe mode.
note-(I heard you can disable the admin account using the command prompt, I don't want to use this.)

Solution

create another user and on the lock screen there will be user(not admin) account and if you loose your password just boot your sytem using erd commander where you can change the password easily

Click on start and type "regedit.exe" withot quotes into the search field, hit enter.

Expand the registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

Double-click on “dontdisplaylastusername” in the right pane and then modify the value to “1″

OK so say I create another user and that means on the log in screen there will be two group admin accounts. This means that the primary admin is hidden. Let's just say I lose the password to both account. While the primary computer administrator is hidden.

Will I be able to go into safe mode and go on to the primary admin account that has no password and change/remove the passwords on the other two accounts?
