I have a Dell Inspiron 530 I got as a gift when I was going into high school a few years back. A day or two ago, she was working fine, but then it finally gave in. I thought to check my hard drive, and that wasn't it, as I upgraded it this morning and did some other poking around. The poking around ensured that the motherboard is fried.

I'm not super tech savvy but I have some basic knowledge. I know that to avoid upgrading my computer later and to have a quality PC on a budget, I can build my own using guides found online.

My biggest issue is what should I buy as in Motherboard and Video cards wise? I need to find a motherboard, cpu, power supply, a case and every other component needed. I bought a SeaGate 1 TB HD that runs at 7200 RPM, so I'm content with keeping that. I don't have a huge budget, but I figure I can use spend around another $450 in total to put this thing together. Can anyone help me out and suggest some stuff that will work ? The main usage of the PC would be for general gaming and browsing the web. Thanks.

all i add is if your close to a micro center they did have a 99.00 inte lg3258 and msi pc mate combo. there cpu prices are lower in store then some of the online prices. they also do have few nice cases like the h22 for 37.00 this month on sale. make sure on your build you buy a power supply like the 750w one it have room for you to add a higher end card when you have the funds. when you look at cases the newer ones like the cosair r300 and other now have space for long gpu. or the drive bays can come out and there places to run wires behind the mb tray. older cases have a fixed hard drive bay that cant be removed and limits the max lenth of cpu and hard drives in a system. if this is your first build buy a mid size atx case not a min atx case. the extra room will make it easy for you.
