Help with multiple GPUs please, getting swamped in technical terms!!

Hi Guys,

I'm looking for some help with whether I can set up multiple GPUs and I'm just getting confused!
After a really confused Christmas I ended up with 2 new graphics cards, I'm selling my old radeon.
I now have a 4gb Palit GTX 970 and a 2gb Asus GTX 760.
Palit GTX 970
Asus GTX 760

The Palit 970 has a pretty cruddy cooling system and I think its going to burn up with not a huge amount more gaming.
The Asus 760 is half the power yet has a brilliant cooling system and is very well designed.
My mother board is a Asus P8H77-M PRO.
Please excuse my stupidity when it comes to this particular area, but is there anyway I can set up multiple GPUs with these cards (I don't mind having to really work to get it working to some extent)?

I use it currently mostly for Skyrim, CS:GO that sort of thing, but I'm going to get some more graphics intensive games soon!

If I really can't set these up as multiple GPU's, what do you think would be best to do, I.E. which card to use, or sell-em and get some different ones?

If you need any more info just let me know.

Not really. To use SLI (sharing the load between cards), then they both must be the same GPU (ie, both 970). You could dedicate one card to Physx, but its not really worth it if you arent playing games that take advantage of it.

Dont be so quick to dismiss the Palit 970. Although the cooler may not seem much, it will be sufficient.

Thanks for the quick answer, I'm currently using the 970 and it's going ok, the only thing is that its idle temp is 44'c which strikes me as quite hot.
Also having a look at the specs of the games in my library quite a few do run Physx, since I've already got and opened the GTX 760 could I dedicate one to Physx, even with them being different cards?

44 idle is fine, nothing to worry about. As long as it stays below 90'c under load then you will be fine.

Yeah if you have enough capacity in your PSU, put the 760 in, then in Nvidia Control panel you can select the 760 as dedicated phsyx GPU. Should give a good performance boost in Phsyx games.
