what software do i need to install for gaming?
my specs:
i5 4590
R9 280x
1tb HDD
8gb 1600mhz ram
msi H81 MB

some people have told me directx and some mantle and im really confused what steps i need to take before i start gaming. Can anyone please help me with this? Sorry for being a noob.

You need an OS (Windows 7/8.1)
You need all motheboard drivers, like chipset, ethernet, usb, sound
You need GFX drivers (http://support.amd.com/en-us/download)

And you need to install the game you want to play :)
