Hi there! I was wondering if you could help me. I work for a footage library and one of our suppliers has sent a bunch of clips on a this Iomega hard drive with a sata cable. We've hooked it up and the computer seems to acknowledge it's existence but we have no idea how to access the video files on there. Do you have any ideas of what to do?

Thanks

Flora

Hey Flora. What do you mean exactly by "acknowledge it's existence"? Is it recognized in Windows Explorer or Disk Management (here's how to access Disk Management: How to access Disk Management in Windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8 to manage hard drives)? Please let me know what it says about the drive's partition when you open Disk Management or it would be even better if you could upload a screenshot.
Or do you mean that you don't know what program to use to open the files?
And please let me know if there's any kind of error message which pops-up when you try to access the drive or the files.

Thanks so much for getting back to me!

The disk manager looks like this, I can't seem to see the new drive on it:

It comes up on devices and hardware as a raid thing.

I'm only familiar with using plug and play usb drives that just show up on the explorer and I can instantly access the files I want to get from them but clicking through. If I could get to the files I could open then ok because I do a lot of video work. What I mean by accessing the data is how to get to what is stored on there. Hope that makes sense!
