Alright I just got some cash and looking to buy a Nvidia card this time, I've stuck with AMD for long time and want to try another. I'm looking for a card to replace my amd 6970 that will give me a big boost while gaming, paired with my AMD 8320 and 8gb of RAM. Maybe around $150-200. I was looking at the GTX 960 or maybe I should go back and get the R9 280? Ty.

Solution
I would say an r9 280. It has and extra gb of ram over the gtx 960, and can usually overclock past the r9 280x stock performance easily. The r9 280 should also be better for higher resolutions because of the extra video ram and wider memory bus.

Out of the box the gtx960 will be faster though, but not by much.
