I'm thinking of buying a new laptop for video/photo editing purposes and maybe some casual gaming. However, I can't make up my mind between 2 different configurations of the same laptop.
There's one laptop with an i7-4710HQ quad-core processor, Intel HD Graphics 4600, and 16GB of ram. This one is only 1366x768 resolution. I can't find the exact listing for it, but I've seen my local Costco selling it in-store.
The other laptop is equipped with an i7-4510U dual-core processor, 4GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M, and 12GB of ram. This one is full HD resolution. Here's the Amazon link:
http://www.amazon.com/HP-ENVY-i7-4510U-keyboard-Bluetooth/dp/B00MGDTW1M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1424846481&sr=8-1&keywords=hp+envy+15t+with+nvidia
Both otherwise have mostly the same specs with a 1TB hard drive, etc.
My question is which one of these would be better for video editing? I might be able to upgrade the laptop with 12GB to 16GB in the future when budget allows, but which processor/gpu combination is better?
