Hello, everyone. On today's date in 2015 I am building my super rig from used peripherals from different locations. But the thing about which I am concerned is the GPU selection. I already have a SAPPHIRE R9 290 4G which runs quite well. But, I want to upgrade from it. So now I have two or three options. Rather buy another TRI-X for around $400. or I should I sell the current R9 290 TRI-X and buy a pair of GTX TITANs for $1100 or buy a pair of GTX 780 Ti's for $1000. And also i can only get the liquid cooling kits, blocks and everything required for custom setup for around $300.
I am leaning more towards the Titans because of 6GB. But need a good advice on this bad boy. Also, I am from Pakistan and we don't have much options here to buy things. So, I am limited to these options at this time.

Solution

now the titan is better by 1-2% and than when you use mantle youll get the same performance for a lower price and better optimization. even tho the titan is for workstations and all that i personally use a 290x CF in one of my workstation build and 1 290x is better...

If I estimate the overall cost. R9 290 TRI-X crossfire is $800, Titans will cost $1100 whereas two 780 Ti's will cost $1000. I am thinking of the extra memory that titan offers. coz its a 6GB as compared to r9's 4GB,
I also want to be a little future proof in case. What you think of titans then?

titans have 6gb which is handy for running more than one 4k monitor 4gb is enough to power 4 monitors and will save you some money

I am looking to max out every single title. that's what I want. And also I'll be getting a 4k monitor or tv as well. Currently I have a 40 inch LED TV which is 1080p.
I'd like to mention one thing for which I am concerned If I keep the setup with crossfire. I currently have a Corsair AX850 PSU. will it be enough to house two R9 290s? also Titans have somewhat lower TDP as compared to 290s.

one more thing pinging in my mind is the R9 390s. as they are around the corner as well. would a pair of these will cost around $1000 as well? and is it worth to wait for them?

no they will not be around 1000$ AMD still have not given the price but im guessing they will be 400-500$ but im not sure though

here you mentioned about price. As you have used the Titans as well. I want to know about the shear computing and gaming power of the Neglecting the price, I can manage to buy them as well, but talking about the power they offer. Are these titans faster than a pair of 290s? or 290s in crossfire will outpace them?

Well, I have almost got my answer. and one more thing i'd like to ask is the DirectX12. What do you think how it is gonna perform on both of these brands? again considering pair of 290s and Titans.

i dont buy used PC parts cause it comes with no warranty and im more on Nvidia side and SLI good for rendering video editing.if you wanna max out games single GTX980 can do the job.in my knowledge 4K monitor for gaming (TV no providers exist yet to stream anything in 4K resolution ))its waste of money,in USA 4K monitor with output 30 fps costs around 700$ 24inch and pull this up anyway you need sli 980 cards, then of cause your Corsair psu not enough for that SLI SETUP.:http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm

they will work very well, it will all depend on how AMD or Nvidia will optimize their cards for dx 12

Got it!
But the thing is here in Pakistan. I am getting a pair of Titans for $1100, which means $550 each. Whereas 980s here are no less than $700. So, theoratically. Titans are $150 cheaper than 980s. at least here
