HWMonitor giving me 2 very high temp readings as you can see boxed in the photo. Corsair Link is reflecting the same temp as the CPU core temp, but can someone tell me why the temp #1 and #6 are so high. Is this normal? Is this something that I should be worried about or are they sensors that are not active? Any input is greatly appreciated in advance.

I7-4790k with Asus hero VII mb. I think I remember reading somewhere that these false reading occur because the software is trying to read from a sensor that is not there. And tbh, if something was at over 100 degress celcius in there, it would be generating a ridiculous amount of heat. The inside of your pc would be quite hot : D

Thanks for the reply. What specs do you need? The MoBo is an ASRock z97 extreme6, the CPU is a I5-4690k, I am running Windows 7 64 bit, The GPU is a Geforce GTX970, the water cooler is a H100i. Could you be a bit more specific as to what specs you need. Thanks again!

I was thinking the same thing. If I am not the only one who is getting these readings then I feel a bit better. What CPU and MoBo do you have?

I will keep the thread open for a bit longer to see if anyone else can explain in a bit more detail. Otherwise I will mark this as the best answer. Thanks for the quick reply as well.

They are false readings. All are correct except that two. If you any bundled software that come with your mobo, it will best choice. Generally open hardware monitor shows wrong readings in selected mobos including you. Try to monitor your temps from other softwares like Hwmonitor:
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
It is mostly used, Most trusted software to monitor your temps. It will give you correct temps. Good luck. :)
