Low profile GPU power cable?

Hi,

I'm building a computer in a Deepcool Steam Castle. The specs listed that it could fit a GPU up to 320mm. I got a GTX 980, which is listed at 279mm. Unfortunately, it didn't fit. I was then told I needed to remove the 3.5 cage in order for it to fit. Which I did because I wasn't using it.

Now my card DOES fit......as long as I don't want to plug in power. I've gotten brutal with the cable that came with my modular power supply, trying to bend it as tight as I can, but it still won't fit.

I've googled for a low profile power supply cable or adapter, but can't find anything.

Do any of you know of an adapter or cable that would work?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Sherri

Is there enough space to fit a power cable? If you can, just remove the card and then plug the power cord, then install the card.

No, there isn't enough space for the one I have, which juts out quite a bit. I saw one on a you tube video for a different brand of card that looked ribbon flat, and I've been trying to find one of those.

Maybe I should try forcing it harder, but I'm afraid of ruining the card.

You can ruin the card that way... What PSU do you have?

Okay, I psyched myself up, cried a little, bit my fingernails, did a few jumping jacks, then did some cable squishing, and it all worked out well. At least it shows up in my bios so far......

Does the GPU shows signs of stress?
