Laptop Gateway M series
O/S Vista Home Premium 64bit
I had a HD crash and I replaced the 250 gig Seagate drive with a new 320 gig WD drive.
Used my recovery disc I made when I got the laptop in 2009 and it went through the loading of windows files and recovery until it tries to start Windows.
It says configuring windows and then a message appears:
'Windows setup could not configure Windows to run on this computers hardware"
Then a box with OK comes on. Pressing OK brings up this message:
Windows could not complete the installation. To install windows on this computer restart the installation.
Have tried several times but the same result.
Any words of wisdom or solutions on how to get it to work?
