Poor FPS in Homeworld Remastered (didn't know what category to put this in)

I got HomeWorld Remastered the day it came out and I was playing online. Everything was going great. Amazing graphics (Everything maxed out) Then I got into a battle and my fps went from 60 down to as low as 36... I watched other people play it on youtube with similar or worse computer builds than mine with the same graphic settings as i have. They get perfect 60 in game. I asked the people i played with what cpu and gpu they have and some said i7 3770k and they were getting 60 fps even in huge fights. I have a i7 4790 at 3.6ghz and a gtx 780 OC GHZ edition and I drop in fps. I've tried everything I can to fix this but with no luck.. I should be able to max this game no problem according to GearBox. Anyone have any ideas?

CPU: i7-4790
GPU: gtx 780 3gb vram
MOBOARD: Gigabyte gaming 5
RAM: 16gb corsair vengance
PSU: Rosewill Xtreme 850w
HDD: Western Digital Black 1TB

What res are you running, what res are they running?

Never believe on youtube videos, because they can have the 3770k OC, and playing on max settings blablabla( as they said ) you will never know if its the correct information. Check your CPU and GPU temps, GPU load% and same for CPU...do a stress test and say something.

Also, run CPUid (http://www.cpuid.com/)and tell us what speed it says your RAM is running at...I bet I know and will say 799/800mhz...

How many RAM sticks are installed and do you know which model they are, in terms of what Mhz did it say on the box when you bought them?

Okay so i did some searching and i did in fact buy 1600mhz ram. So i went into bios and switched the mhz memory to XMP. And now they are running at 799.9

So far you were not using your stick's full performance.

This however is probably NOT the full solution. Step by step though...

Check your avg. fps now compared to before.

Results are in and yes i did help a little but i still drop to 40's sometimes. Any other ideas?

You still need to download MSI afterburner and monitor the GPU usage while you get drops, as well as the GPU clocks.

I do not, but doing a search, it appears to be a remastered version of a very old game. It isn't uncommon that games of that nature have performance issues.

Look at MSI Afterburners results on the GPU usage, clocks, and it can track CPU cores now, as well.
