Low FPS in games.

Hello.
I got a little problem with the FPS in games lately. Games that are NOT that new.
To be honest, my PC isn't the best out there, but it meets the minimum and sometimes recommended system requirements.

My config:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X2 555 BE 3.20GHz
GPU: AMD Radeon 6450 HD 512mb VRam GDDR5
Memory: Kingston 2x2 kit 1333Mhz DDR3
Motherboard: GIGABYTE M68MT-S2P

The PC worked just fine till 2014 (got it in 2011). Since then, I tried reinstalling the OS, cleaning the PC for dust, defragging and all the things that could be done. Still no increase in FPS.
Using COD:BO2 as reference, when I got the PC, I could play it at medium textures, high filtering, AA off and shadows off with no problem. I was getting about 80 fps.

Just to mention, my GPU temps in full load are 60-70 degrees Celsius and the CPU doesn't pass 45 degrees Celsius in full load. The GPU has a max overclock on it when it's stressed.

Thing is, now I am playing with everything at low and I still get framedrops and lags everytime at 60-70 fps.

If I have to mention anything else, just tell me and I'll do.

Please help, thank you.

Why not cap it at 60 FPS?

Although I do see that capping it doesn't help your graphical situation, but for the time being that would be my preferable choice to limit spike and stutter.

Wish I could be of more help.
