This is the build I'm thinking about doing. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/xhwPLk

Do you think I need to change anything? I have a monitor and mouse and keyboard planned out that I can't find on pcpartpicker so those add about a bit under 100 pounds.

Approximate Purchase Date: Within the next few weeks

Budget Range: roughly 400 pounds. I don't want to go much over that at all.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, internet

Are you buying a monitor: Yes

Do you need to buy OS: Yes

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: amazon.co.uk I haven't found any great Irish websites and all the British websites have fairly high shipping compared to amazon.

Location: Ireland

Parts Preferences: Intel i3. Everything else doesn't really matter as long as they're not too expensive.

Overclocking: If at all possible

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: Whatever looks decent for games

Additional Comments: Just for use in games like League of Legends

Why Are You Upgrading: My current laptop can't run LoL well at all. The cpu usage goes insanely high when I play LoL which isn't even too demanding.

Thanks in advance.

i3 CPUs are not that great at gaming, so I would go with an i5 in the 1150 socket. If you want to overclock then you need the K version of whatever CPU you want as that means its completely unlocked on all cores and you would have to fork out a bit more for a mobo that would be a good OC companion to the CPU. Otherwise everything looks fine. The 4690K is the best i5 that you can buy, just to give you some type of bearing.

I agree although the i3 would be a lot stronger than the Pentium G3258 in my opinion.

Agreed. However, the Pentium was not an option brought up as I had recommended an i5 as a better option.

I only plan on playing games like League of Legends. I'm pretty sure it's not that demanding so wouldn't an i3 be fine? I don't really feel like dishing out an extra 80-100 pounds for an i5.

The i3 will limit how long your system will last without needing an upgrade. An i5 will be a better investment even though it is more initially. Plus, for instance, World of Warcraft just became a really big game and heavier load on CPU and a great deal heavier on GPUs now. So, LoL might be following suit in the future.
