Hey im just here because Im thinking of upgrading my cpu about a year ago I built a pc got a gtx 690 a i7 965 oced at a calm 3.9ghz used to have 4.2 but heat 8gb of 1600mhz ram. I mostly play games like dayz arma 3 ect cpu demanding so i get around 40-50fps on most servers but I asking should I upgrade my cpu or should i just get better cooling for the old hardware and overclock more. thanks in advance :)

p.s I know it was a bit late to get a first gen cpu but if any of you are on a budget I strongly advise getting a 1st gen i7 like i did you can get a 920 of ebay for £30 and a motherboard for the same this will outperform any amd cpu in that pricerange leaving you most of the money for your gpu.

as the CPU isn't that much of an issue for gaming i will not recommend a CPU upgrade but the GPU that i will and going to a 970 will be a very good GPU to go to as it is basically a 980 for almost all games just will not preform in 4k as well is all.

Really besdies your GPU that computer is able to do anything at this generation of gaming at max or close to max @ 1440p excludeing very few games
