Hello Friends,

I am needing some help deciding on a nice quality motherboard to upgrade from the 1155 socket to the 1150 socket. I am wanting to spend no more then about 225 on a new one and I need help. I am wanting to overclock my CPU as well as my GPU at some point. Would like to make sure that I can future proof my computer for at least 3 years or so.

Any other detail I might have left out just ask and I will provide

Thanks alot for all of your help!

You cannot upgrade merely your motherboard, a 1155 CPU will not fit in a 1150 socket. For $225 for both motherboard and CPU you will be severely restricted in terms of what choices you have available.

what CPU do you currently have?

Ok then either maybe choose what i suggested or you can go with a cheaper one. The ASrock Z97 Extreme 4 cheaper than the one i suggested it's good for a budget motherboard. Also it allows Quad SLI/Crossfire or 4 way SLI/Crossfire.

Sadly, all are for work and for clients to play with to get an idea of what type of system they might want. Also have students and others that use them when available. Some Projects I take on might tie one up for hours or longer. I put the AMD together, prinmarily to help out here on the forums with AMD problems, wanted a powerful one so can sort of dummy it down also. These are my main three, have others for work and as loaners, a couple laptops, and a few tablets as well
