New Build Gigabyte Z97 Gaming GT, Core i7 4790K, 16GB G-Skill @ 2400 DDR3, Powercolor PCS+ R9 290X 4GB. Coolermaster B700 Power Supply, Fractal Define R5 Case.

I built this Rig by upgrading my Motherboard, Memory and Processor from a Gigabyte UD5, Core i7 920, 6GB DDR3 RAM to the above.

Performance wise the new build is amazing, Valley benchmark is almost double FPS and score but the problem is the Windows Connect and Disconnect sound is continuously going off, it's like a USB device is being unplugged then reinserted over and over and over again, It's driving me nuts and the only way I've been able to live with it is by switching off the Connect and disconnect sound in windows which is a temporary measure to keep my sanity,

I only upgraded today and the problem appeared as soon as I booted into Windows 8.1, not a clean install but the install from the Core i7 920 Rig that was upgraded so I re installed Windows 8.1 thinking that would fix it but alas no, the problem persists even though I have now installed all my drivers, latest versions, and also all the updates to windows.

Has anyone had this problem and resolved it, please help.

I figured it out, it turned out to be my Logitech G930 wireless headset USB Transceiver, it would reset itself continuously until I removed it from the USB 3 Hub I had it plugged into and plugged it directly into the back of my PC. It turns out to be a known issue but was strange that it worked perfectly on my Core i7 920 before I upgraded it to my Core i7 4790K. The only changes being the motherboard, cpu and Ram.
