Powerline adaptors suddenly dropping speed after connection upgrade?

Hi all,

For a couple of months now I have been using an Zyxel PLA4201v2 500mps powerline adaptor with my upstairs computer with a newly installed BT Infinity 1 connection (up to 38 mbps) with no problem at all. In fact, performances have been fantastic and the connection has been close to the 38mb download /9mb upload cap on a regular basis.

I was so happy with this that I decided to upgrade to BT Infinity 2 (up to 78 mbps), but since the line was upgraded yesterday things have gone awry. The PC downstairs connected directly to the router seems fine, reaching speeds of 55mbps (which no doubt varies in the first 3 days anyway). But my main PC upstairs connected via the powerline adaptors has fluctuated for most of the day. I say 'most' as there was a period of a few hours where it too reached 55 mbps and was behaving normally, until suddenly it dropped down to about 3mbps. Currently it is on about 7-10.

What baffles me is that from working perfectly with BT Infinity 1, the sudden speed boost with BT Infinity 2 seems to have messed with the powerline adaptors. I have already reset all the powerline adaptors several times as well as moving the adaptors to different sockets where possible. Wirelessly from a laptop it is also fine.

Other than investing in a wireless card for my PC, I am at a loss what to do. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
