i have two systems, im debating on using. One system has a single 780TI Vs the other system that has two brand new 290X 4Gb cards. I have seen alot of mixed reviews and debates on the two. Looking for some opinions
Both PC's are running identical hardware, in single card solutions The 290X is out performing my 780 TI in every game, from bf4-Crysis WoW etc.
I'm thinking your graphics settings are not quite even between the two cards. On the GTX 780 Ti, for example, enabling Quality Ambient Occlusion forces on the improved HBAO+, which the AMD card can't do. The Nvidia card is going to have a few more exclusive settings available that you may have overlooked, like FXAA or Transparency Supersampling. Actually, come to think of it, those enhanced graphics settings would be my arguments for going with the GTX 780 Ti, even if you were getting a few more FPS out of the 290X.
or water blocks just put two in a new system today with aquacomputer blocks and backing plates but if your playing in 1080 @ 60hz the 780ti will be your best option
The two cards i have came in a 290 sapphire box. They are the 4Gb cards with the switches. Single fans, the cards are massive larger then normal. The stickers say 290X but like i said Came in a 290 box. i think they are the reference cards.
