New Graphics Card GTX 960, Old Motherboard - Would it work?

Solution
It would work, but be limited by the rest of your system. I'd recommend a GTX 750 ti, as you would get very similar performance in many games, and it's cheaper and less power hunger. That ram is definitely a limiting factor, so don't expept to be playing the latest games too well.

Finally, make sure you are using the x16 PCIE slot (which newegg says is the blue one).

yeah, it will work, but severely bottleneck between your processor and graphic card.

But, if you wanna upgrade your system (mobo+proc+mem) near in the future, then grab the 960.
But if not, well, like Jon said..just get the 750Ti..or 260x/265/270..

I am sure it will work. Always make sure your bios is up to date before upgrading hardware. I have had problems countless times while upgrading hardware just because I forget to update the bios. People seem to think having ddr2 ram bottlenecks your system, but thats bs. There is only about a 1-4 fps difference between ddr2 and ddr3 ram in modern games from my experience. Ram speed does not determine how well a game runs. (amount of ram is a different story of course) Thats the cpu and gpus job.

Your board does support the q9000 series quad cores, therefore, you should seriously think about upgrading to something like a q9550. There is quite a large performance difference between that and your q6700 and It would definitely go well with your gtx 960. You can usually find them for 50-70$ on ebay.
