While upgrading to my new motherboard, I noticed that a pin at the CPU_Fan socket was drastically bent out of place, but I managed to get it back in place fine. After finishing up, there was dialog on my monitor about an error with CPU fan 1 and promptly shut off. Now the real kicker is that the CPU fan spins just fine. When I looked inside, everything boots up fine but a quick red flash for the CPU led and in instant shut down tells me otherwise. I can only keep my computer on for about 10 seconds before this happens. Is there any way I can remedy this, or is it time for a new mobo or maybe even a new CPU cooler? Thank you! I have Asus Sabertooth 990X 990FX R2.0 and CoolerMaster Hyper EVO 212

Did apply thermal paste, but I very well could have made a mistake. What exactly is seating and any tips to make sure I did it correctly?
