This is my first time building a pc.

I am upgrading my desk top to a new Mobo. I am using a I5 3330 1155 socket.

Which of these 2 boards will give give me more options for upgrading into the future?

What I can't seem to find a good answer to is, is having faster ram for the future better then more PCI x16 slots?

can you fit an ATX size board? if you can, that gives you the most options for expansion cards - tossing in a graphics card won't cover any other slots, and you'd have a few to choose from.

from your original two choices, i'd lean towards the Gigabyte since once you plug in a 2-wide graphics card, the slots left over are (marginally) more useful.
