MBA Ram Chips

By what your saying I take it you have a reflow table and have used one.
And you also have the template for the bga memory chips and the correct sized solder balls.

Its a bit more complex than you think.
You need the right template for the bga memory chips you intend to buy, because it needs to be aligned dot on.
all the old solder on the card its self where the Bga memory chips are will need to be cleaned off.
Then you will have to use the right template with the right sized solder balls about 0.25.
Also a good dual thermal probe to make sure you don`t burn out the new memory chips.

You could just try a simple reflow and see if it fixes the problem it may be a case of a few pads need reflow and the memory error may resolve. If you have a reflow and have done work with one then fine.

You cannot just use or buy a reflow station, it takes time to work out when it comes to reflow.
How preheat hot the board must be and the amount of time to heat with the types of chips or components.
Too much heat for two long and you can kill the intended replacement parts.
Key is to make sure the solder balls are aligned using a template.

Its a lot of time and work, and very tricky, why most people would not bother.
Its took me three years to get stuff right when it comes to reflow work , with the reflow station, it`s not something if you have never done it before you can pick up straight away to be honest. You start of making more mistake at first and learn from them as you get familiar with exactly the settings of your reflow table or equipment. Just a heads up.
