I have gone through the diagnostic process on the forum and breadboarded (to eliminate shorts) my PSU, motherboard and CPU after removing the CMOS battery, and resetting the CMOS (using the jump). When I power up, I have a solid green standby LED light on the motherboard and a solid red CPU LED light on the motherboard but no POST. The PSU fan works and lights up and the connected CPU fan also works. I have checked the CPU pins and they look okay although had to straighten a few but still get solid red CPU LED. Before I replace hardware how do I know what is failing is it the PSU, motherboard or CPU (I think its the CPU because of the solid red LED light and the few pins that needed straightening but the forums suggest differently). Is there anything I have missed or anything else I can do before replacing hardware and what do I replace having stripped the system down to the minimum I am at a loss to understand what else I can do to resolve the problem. This is not a new build, the components are 12 months old (I built the system Dec 13), but used heavily daily as a gaming machine and the system was working fine until I decided to up grade the case and remove the components and when reinstalled nothing, no Beeps, No Post, no monitor etc.. Help !

The system is
PSU - Corsair GS700
Motherboard - M5A97EVOR20
CPU - AMD FX6300 bLACK eDITION 6 CORE

If it was a new build, I'd suspect the motherboard. However as you mentioned your setup was fine until moving to a new case. You elimated shorts already, and you mentioned bent CPU pins. If everything is plugged in correctly, ram & GPU reseated, and still no POST. I'm thinking CPU also.

Thanks for your help replaced the CPU and everything sorted, looks like even the small number of bent pins were enough to cause a problem
