i switched my old motherboard and processor out with new parts and didn't delete anything from my hard drive. I dont care if i loose anything i just want to start up the computer. i have whe windows disc and product key. My original thaught was to plug in an external hard drive in and install windows 7 on that, than when i was done i delete the info on the old hard drive and go back to using that but i just want to do this as simply as possible.

Solution
Boot into BIOS.
Change your Boot Priority to boot from CD/DVD as your first option.
Insert your Windows 7 DVD into the drive
Reboot your system.
When asked if you want to boot from CD/DVD, select yes.
Install Windows.

Do you have an OEM window 7 or retail Window 7?
Put the window 7 disc in an optical drive. Boot up into the BIOs and select to boot the optical drive. This will start the window 7 installation and you will need to enter product key. Once you get to the window where you choose to install window 7, you will get the option to delete your old partitions. Do that before installing window 7.

Change Boot priority to CD/DVD boot, reboot , then press any key, you'll boot normally into Windows 7 Installation, it will ask you for the language of system and input, click next. When you reach two options :
- Upgrade Windows (Mise à Nouveau if french)
- Custom Options/Installation.

Choose Custom one, then click 'Advanced' and format 'C' drive or whatever system's drive is, then click next, you'll have a whole new clean windows, and after everything finishes, install your drivers normally.
