Hello,

First of all, I apologize if this kind of question and situation already was answered, I searched for 10 minutes and couldn't find it (I'm not a common guest here, so I can't navigate as fast).

Here is my problem. I have virtual image of windows 8. I have external hard disk drive, seagate 2tb. I know it is possible to install windows FROM external HDD, but the guides I looked through involved loosing all other information stored in it. Is it possible, and if yes, how, to install windows from external HDD without loosing other information stored on it ? Thanks in advance.

Hey there, Rockfromlt!

It might be possible if you partition the external drive and make one partition bootable while storing the data on the other.
But you'd still need to back up the data somewhere else before doing this because tempering with the partitions will re-format the drive.
You can use this tutorial: http://bootableusb.net/make-bootable-external-hdd-install-windows-78/

Keep your data backed up though. Better safe than sorry, right?
Hope this works! Keep me posted! :)
