So based on some previous advice on Tom's, I've narrowed down my research for an i5-4590 gaming system. This is a second PC, so I will only use it for gaming, and probably only install a few games at a time. A few other considerations and questions:
- I won't OC
- it's only the second machine I've built
- I want to play the newest games at a decent level, but I don't need hardcore performance
- Is Micro ATX case enough room for cooling (2x 120mm fans)
- Is OB MB audio sufficient? I don't need incredible sound.

*CPU= i5-4590-- $198
* STOCK COOLER... or do I need the Cooler master Hyper 212 EVO cooler-- $35???
*Asus LGA1150 H97-Plus (w/OB sound)-- $100 // alternate: Gigabyte H97 Extreme ($85)
*8GB (2x4) Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3-1600 CL9 RAM-- $60
*Rosewill Micro ATX Case-- $40 (2x fans, front/rear) / I have a Lian Li all-aluminum mid tower but it seems to rattle a bit... Worth keeping???
*EVGA 600B 80plus bronze PS-- $55 // alternate: Antec VP-450 for $35
*Graphics: upgrade to GTX 960; plan to use an NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 for a bit though
*Existing Ethernet card
*Existing SSD HDD: Crucial M500 (CT240)
*No plans for add'l HDD
------------------------------
TOTAL BUILD: $455 w/out the new graphics card

Thoughts? Anywhere I really need to shell out more money, except for the GTX 960 obviously, which I will buy ASAP? Thanks!!!

Yeah it's only $8 difference at the minute, so I figured why not?

Which Lian Li case do you have?

If you can find a way for it to stop rattling and it can hold all your components, it could be worth keeping. You could either pocket the savings or use it for another part in the build, such as a better graphics card.

Here's what I was thinking:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Thanks that's great feedback. I'm gathering that I can skip the cooler, and need to upgrade to the XFX PS. My case is the PC-7B plus II. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112099. It would be nice to keep it, maybe I just need some rubber washers on the case and case fans. Thanks again!

Sorry forgot to check one thing- if I go with a MB that has onboard audio, is it "good enough?" I'm no audiophile, just want to hear the sound effects! Thanks

Depends which audio chipset the motherboard has, but in general any motherboard past $80 should have an ok dac/amp. Assuming you have decent headphones/speakers you should be able to hear the sound effects clearly.

I love the look of that case, I would definitely reuse it.
