Solid Black Handle On ATI 5770 Graphics Card, How Can I Remove It?

There's a massive, solid metal handle attached to my ATI Radeon 5770, and since I just got a new chassis for my Computer (The Rosewill Challenger), it doesn't fit. No matter what.

From unscrewing the handle, I noticed it seems to actually be fixed internally to the chipset of the GPU, so taking it off would be very challenging and almost impossible, since it could damage the GPU.

I have considered taking a metal-power saw to it and just holding it tightly, but I'm afraid the violent vibrations could damage it.

What can I do? It's the only GPU I have at the moment, and I cannot afford another one...

Alright, but the compartment meant to hold the floppy drives in the case is screwed with special little screws that I am unable to remove. The ones with the circular heads.

Therefor, there is still no solution, since both the handle, and the floppy compartment are in the way.

This is how a build looks like in your case:

I had same problem and it is easily remedied. Remove all screws on the plate/handle. Then remove the 4 screws mounting the fan to the GPU. This allows you to remove the plate/handle.
