I'm building my first rig & I'm stuck on which AMD cpu to get. Been mostly thinking a10 7850k because it has built in R7 gpu, which will get me playin most games med. level decent FPS & prolly add R9 270 down the road as money allows. My other idea has been the fx 6300 which has no gpu so right off bat will cost me extra 150 or more to get playin Any game (prolly R9270) but I know that'll give me high set w good FPS, but once again more up front. Other main function of pc will be my school pc & house pc (my kids). Thanx for ur thoughts

The A10 is decent at 720p, but not recommended for serious 1080p gaming. There are better options for close to the same price. The igpu on the A10 is only about as powerful as the 250. The Athlon x4 860k + video card would be a better option. I would not even consider any FX.

Love the price of the Athlon. From my reading the athlon is vasheri gpu w a faulty gpu so they repackaged as a standard 4 core at a reduced price. I have no prob w that but the fx 6300 6 core only 20 more. Why do u suggest against the fx? I know it's hot & draws more power but that doesn't bother me. Thanx again for ur response

The FX is old and has poor single core performance. It requires a much more expensive motherboard(which is also old). You can get an i3 for the same price, and the i3 is MUCH MUCH better. The Athlon is cheaper, has a stronger single core performance, and can be paired with a $50 motherboard.

Makes sense thanx CT. Last? If the athlon is really a APU w a faulty gpu, wouldn't a A10 work just as well once I added the R9 270 to it? Im thinkin towards the future if I purchase the A10 cause I read there going to be taking advantage of the extra gpu computing power in future games/program's.

So I've decided on X4 860k, ASrock FM2A88X mobo, Sapphire R9 270, hyperx 4gb 1866, Kingston v300 120gb SSD, evga 600 brnz plus pwr supply, deepcool case. Add 1tb HD month or 3 down the road. This should rock right?

What do you think of this? The 270 is only $17 cheaper

Mine in cart at Newegg was 498 out the door, so urs is a better deal, hadn't checked pcpickpart yet, mostly just egg n Amazon. I'm gona use ur exact list except I'm gona spend ten bucks more on deepcool tesseract case, purely looks, but gona look at it on pcpickpart now too. I'm planning on running Windows 8.1, was thinking about ordering the three-month tech version to get me by a few paychecks, then buy it full price. What do you think about that CT?
