Just replacing 2 4 GB sticks of crucial ballistix sport RAM with 2 4 GB sticks of corsair vengeance. Installed the new RAM and the DRAM frequency appears to be 669.7 MHz according to CPUID CPU-Z, which I used just basically on a recommendation from a friend. Any help appreciated :)

Solution
When you buy RAM, the speed it says on the package ......

- Will be twice what it says in CPUz

- Represents the Intel XMP profile or what AMD calls the AMP profile also referred to as DOCP or EOCP profiles. This RAM will default to 1333 or 667 in CPUz under the highest JEDEC profle.

- Check your MoBo manual with regard to how to properly set up AMP or XMP equivalent (DOCP or EOCP) profiles
http://www.amd.com/en-us/innovations/software-technologies/amp

- Make sure to use use the following speed and timings

DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
Timing 9-9-9-24
Cas Latency 9
Voltage 1.5V
