I've been looking more towards the Geforce cards since I've always gone with AMD in the past mostly the GTX 750Ti or the GTX 960, I don't really know what my MOBO and CPU could handle considering their age.

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Within the next two months.

BUDGET RANGE: $300 - $400

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming (Mostly playing Skyrim with a lot of mods), War Thunder, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Movies and Videos

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: AMD Radeon HD 6670 with a Corsair TX650M

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS: Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge Quad-Core 3.4GHz CPU, Intel BOXDZ68BC LGA 1155 Intel Z68 Motherboard, 16GB of DDR3 1600 RAM, This is a link to my exact case (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156078), finally I'm running on windows 7 64bit

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: Newegg.com

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: United States

OVERCLOCKING: Maybe, Never messed with these things before out of fear of melting my system haha

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920 x 1080

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: With tax returns coming in I'm looking to start feeding upgrades to my rig (which I first built back in 2012) I've always wanted to play games at High or Ultra settings, always been stuck setting things at medium due to FPS, glitching, and the like.

Your i7 is still a kick butt cpu that wont even break a sweat when playing modern games. The only thing your system is lacking is a decent graphics card. A gtx 970 will go perfectly with your rig and easily max out any modern game at 1080p. Honestly, I wouldn't even consider your system to be old yet. I recommend making sure your bios is up to date just to make sure upgrades go smoothly but otherwise, you shouldn't have any trouble.
