Headphones plugged in sound card are super loud

Hello,
I recently bought new sound card and headphones for better sound quality. The card is Sound Blaster Z, the headphones are Sennheiser HD 215. But when I plug the headphones directly to the sound card (the port where you put speakers/headphones in), the volume is super, super loud. I have to turn the volume to less than 5%, and even then it's still loud and I have to turn it even more down on my music player. The only way it's not being loud is to connecting my speakers first and then connecting headphones through the speakers. Is there any way to fix this? And does plugging headphones through the speakers decrease the quality in any way?
Thanks for help!

I found nothing. This is really annoying. Do you know if the quality decreases if I use headphones through speakers?

Okay, this is weird. I tried the Sennheiser headphones on both sound card and mobo - very loud on both, then I tried KOSS headphones on sound card and mobo, and they're as well very loud. Is there something wrong with my mobo or something? My speakers are Logitech Z323

Yeah man that's the thing. I must have it on volume max. 5%, otherwise it's gonna rip my ears off and destroy the headphones. Did you read my first article or not?
