Better processor or more RAM?

Hey guys, looking to buy a 15" laptop. I have had success with Dell in the past (especially with customer service) so I narrowed it down to these laptops.

1) http://www.dell.com/ca/p/inspiron-15-7547-laptop/pd?oc=ni157547_btp_h5248pe&model_id=inspiron-15-7547-laptop

2) http://www.dell.com/ca/p/inspiron-15-7548-laptop/pd?oc=ni157548_bt_s5238e&model_id=inspiron-15-7548-laptop

My question is which one should I choose?
#1 has a 4th gen i7, 16 GB of RAM and a lower screen resolution.

#2 has a 5th gen, 8 GB of ram and a higher resolution

Will I notice the different between 8GB/16GB of RAM / will the processor make the difference? Any suggestions?

Solution
Absolutely. A 4K display will drain a battery incredibly fast. Battery life wouldn't be anywhere close to the 4th gen, 1080p version.

If battery life is a priority, the 4th gen is the best option.

4th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-4510U processor (4M Cache, up to 3.1 GHz)

5th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-5500U Processor (4M Cache, up to 3.00 GHz)

Even though the 5th generation processor is more energy efficient than the predecessor, option number 2 is going to suck down juice because of that 4K display.

The processors are going to perform almost identically.

8GB versus 16GB depends on what you're going to use it for. What will you be doing with it?

Mostly schoolwork, movies, and travel. I already have a gaming desktop but I just want something more portable. So by the sounds of it, perhaps the 16GB, 4th gen i7 would be best? If they perform the same. One more kind of off topic question, would the 5th gen, 4k display kill the battery faster when not plugged in?
