Simple question.
Here are my Gaming Rig's specs:

Core i5-3570K (running @ 4.2 Ghz - slight auto voltage OC).
Gigabyte G1 Gaming Geforce GTX 980
Asus Sabertooth Z77 Motherboard
16 GB of G.Skill ripjaw-X DDR3 1600Mhz (x.m.p profile)
SSD 256GB Crucial M4.
HD Western Digital Black 2TB
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14
Case: Corsair CC600T Graphite White Special Edition
PSU: Corsair 850AX Gold
Running Win 8.1 64bit. Pro
Monitor: Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q 2560 x 1440p
Secondry Screen: 55" TV: Samsung UA55D6400 TV1080p 60Mhz

This is a small benchmarking comparison I found featuring my current CPU. No 5xxx CPU though..

Back when I bought the Core i5-3570K I thought about saving some money and didn't buy the Core i7-3770K ,because most benchmarks includig Guru 3d have shown the difference is slim and performance is identical at most cases. Looking back I kind of regret it, but I heared my choice wasn't bad.

I recently bought the new GTX 980 G1 Gaming GPU. This is a gaming rig, I play most of my games on my big TV but I will play some on my ROG Swift monitor.

Should I upgrade my CPU to the latest models? Will it really be beneficial?
If so which models do you recommend?
Or Should I wait?

I plan on buying a 2nd GTX 980 (probably Gigabyte again) for SLI, but I am not sure if I even need it yet..
I got the impression that getting a 2nd GPU will give me a much more significant performance boost than anything else. Might be wrong though.
Btw here are my 3DMark Demo 64bit results:

This dillema has been nagging me for a while, will appreciate your advice. Thanks.

Solution
Not really. i5's can handle games just fine. Your 3570k at 4.2ghz is more than enough (even if you add second 980) and your score shows that.
