I started buying components for my 1st ever build. I popped a gtx750ti into my stock HP and fell in love w computer gaming. I have bought the 4 main things so far. They are: I7 4790k, asus z97a mobo, gigabyte g1 gaming gtx 970, and g skill trident x 8 gig ddr3 2400. I have 1 more order for the last parts: crucial 256 ssd, a Seagate 1tb hdd, winds 8.1 64, and coolmaster 212 cpu cooler, and probably rosewill capstone 730w psu. I have about 500$ for this last order and still need a case. Pref a full atx. Does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts on this build? Im super excited and should order the last parts in a day or 2. Im also going to get a flash drive as I was told I need to download updates for mobo from my existing pc and flash them to mobo prior to posting. I need to research it as im unsure how that works yet. Any thoughts or suggestions are GREATLY appreciated. -Great Job!

I suppose you're buying an mx100 ssd. And if I am right the z97 mobos dont need a bios update to run haswell refresh cpus since they were made to support them. If so then you dont need to flash it. Also nowadays you can flash your bios from windows. And a case is really subjective to taste, but I definately recommend looking into silverstone, corsair or coolermaster cases for that.

Yep the mx100, well that's good news if I don't have to do the flash. So all id need to do is pre-build to get a post, then install into case and once its up and running w windows I can download and update anything then?

No need to flash the BIOS. Just put everything together and install windows either with a disc or USB drive. The only reason you would need a 750w psu is if you want to get a second GTX970 and run SLI. If you don't plan on doing that, you could drop down to a 550w psu and save some money.

120-128GB ssd is plenty for windows and all programs, but doesn't allow much room for games. It's up to you. Most people use the 120-128GB.

Great!, I deleted the other psu and added that one instead. I'm liking that one the most. I don't know much about using an ssd but will learn. I'm going to use it for Windows and other programs but games I'll put games on the 1tb seagate. I have about 600gigs of games On my hdd now so I'm sure I'll have fun downloading and installing them again.
