How much cellular data do video games use?

I am curious as to how much data playing video games will use off of cellular data from my phone via hotspot. I want to do this so I could play in the car or at my house since I have a very high ping at my house. I only have 4 GB shared on my data plan. I am mostly looking to play Countrr Strike Global Offensive off of the data. If anyone knows please reply, and if u have unlimited data could you test it out?
Thanks in advance. Personally I don't think it will use to much data, I think it is just sharing data smal amounts, not like watching a video.

It'll depend on the game, unfortunately. High-speed twitch shooters based on the P2P protocol will usually consume more data than the common server-centric MMOs. For the former, you also need higher speeds, and you'll usually consume more if you're hosting the match.
With a mobile connection, however, you'll be forced to cope with signal strength, and your ping may vary greatly in that case.

Anyways, from what I've tested on my 1gb plan some time ago, you're usually looking at a value roughly between 60 and 120MB of consumed data per hour. Unless you're using an unlimited plan, it's not really that good as a solution IMHO, even if it's not going to happen very often...

I play sometimes on my laptop with my mobile-internet SWTOR and it varies.
There were days when i played a like 6 hours and only used 10-15mbs.

Then there times when it used like 100mb/s.

And pretty much the did the same thing.
