Ok so I decided to go against using AMD fx8350 4.0ghz despite concerns that future games will start using more cores. I went with full win8 just in case. Later I'd like to buy a cpu cooling unit under $60 that I can OC the i7 to it's max. I'd like to hear your suggestions and opinions. I should have everything betweeen wed-fri

I'll be using this on my 60inch 1080p tv 120hz but I'm really looking forward to Oculus Rift and it's one of the reasons I've come back to PC gaming.

Solution

It is better to have aftermarket cooler as they keep our CPU pretty cool and cooler like cooler master hyper 212 are pretty cheap in cost as compared to water cooling solutions

I agree. I was going to go with the previous but decided to stay up all night last night researching before I made a final decision. I was surprised I came well under budget. With the i7 and 970 SOC I shouldn't need to OC or SLI for a while running at 1080p.

So do you guys think I made the right choices for MOBO and RAM?

EDIT: Also... you think I should buy an aftermarket cpu cooler right now since I won't be OCing yet?

for 8350 you must get aftermarket cooler like cooler master hyper 212 even if your not gonna OC it

Absolutely. This final build won't be using 8350. It's going to be a i7 4790k. I don't think I'll need a aftermarket cooler for it until I decide to OC
