My chair leg broke and my chair fell backwards while I was on it and it hit my PC and shut it off.

Now my PC whenever I try booting it, it flickers for 1 second and turns off.

My mobo light is green. I unplugged each part and everything worked until I plugged CPU power cable in.

When my CPU power cable(s) is disconnected from mobo my PC boots up. (With my CPU still attached to mobo)

Is it a CPU/mobo/PSU problem?

All my fans and video card and lights work when it boots. I'm not sure if its the power cable for CPU or something else. Can anybody help me figure it out?

Thanks

Hey there,
This is rare case that does happen time to time to some, with or without any physical interaction with the pc itself.

I searched online for a bit.

Out of many troubleshooting I've read, here's few options for you to try.

1. Try reseating your CPU to the correct position. (IMO, shouldn't have moved with the latch closed tight on every mobo, but just in case)
2. Try to see if you mobo panel has any cracks.(even the back part)

These obvious try doesn't work.
Then it will lead to these:

a) Your CPU is dead. (Some found replacing the CPU solved the problem right away. Their other parts were working same thing with you)
b) I wouldn't suspect any PSU malfunction in this case, however, if a) doesn't work, just get a PSU enough to support/supply your rig and test it out.
If it does, return it, and get a good one for yourself :) But again, I don't think it got to do with the PSU.

Personally, I suspect CPU itself, and the motherboard.

Good luck,
