I watched this YouTube benchmarks (searched palit gtx 960). I saw the list where this Palit gtx 960 is better than EVGA, MSI, ASUS any gigabyte.

Now in my place, Philippines, palit gtx 960 super jetstream is significantly cheaper like $5 cheaper than others.

I've been thinking if I'll buy this instead of r9 270x but I only play twice a week. Also, I'm having doubt on Palit since my palit gtx 650 ti blacked out after about 2 months of usage.. And palit is like tier 2 brand.

Any thoughts??

Palit is a 2nd tier brand when it comes to consumer cards. I wonder why nVidia lets Palit do their Quadros.

Buy Asus, Sapphire or Gygabite and never look back. Still have a 12 year old Sapphire card working. Still have 7 year old Asuses lying around working without any problems.

XFX had some exploding heatpipes (google HD 7950 XFX epxloded and you will see)

Every other week, there is somebody here that is complaining of EVGA coil whine. Though all manifacturers are not safe from coil whine, EVGA for some reason is more prone to it.

Had so many problems with MSI that I always keep away from them. Apparently they upped their game, but I am not willing to trust them.

Zotac is the most failing cards I have ever seen. My father is a PC technician and he has around 20 dead Zotacs lying there in a box. Palit is trying hard, but they are not up to the quality. Inno3D - middle of the road. Club 3D - same thing.

Even if Palit clocked that card higher and it scores "best", it can't match manual over clocked Asus or Gigabyte or even EVGA or MSI. Don't trust all you see on the Internet.

Oh well I guess I can give up the gtx 960 for 2 year future build.

So, is sapphire r9 270x dualX OC 2gb enough to satisfy the memory-hungry BF 4 for 1080p gaming, mid settings?? Or should I push through VaporX??
I'm satisfied with mid settings,

1020 MHz Core Clock
28 nm Chip
1280 x Stream Processors
Video Memory
2048 MB Size
256 -bit GDDR5
5600 MHz Effective

If I'm to play 1080p gaming on a 23inch monitor. (will buy after like 4 months). Currently I have 19.5 inch.

Everyone has their opinions and experiences.
Some have Asus cards fail on them, others have Gainward(daughter company of Palit) work flawlessly for years.
My own Gainward GTX650 is working without a single hiccup since last year. It didn't come with any accessories, but it's a good card.

Shneiky.. What? VaporX is 35 USD more expensive than the basic sapphire r9 270x dual x oc 2gb.. And $35 is great addition for me to buy i3 + MSI H97 GAMIUNG 3..

AND I will play only twice a week Saturday and Sunday since I'm working. Maybe 1 hour per day on weekdays

"Whaaat?" You said it yourself. Palit is 5$ cheaper and I was trying to make the point that 5 bucks more for an Asus is a wise investment.

Sheniky. Sorry I thought you were comparing R9 270x dualX vs vaporX at $5 difference.

Price list of gtx 960 in our country

Palit $232
Zotax $230
Evga $271
Gigabyte $285 2gb OC (G1 gaming is more expensive)
Asus $307

Sorry I meant about $5 difference is Palit gtx 960 vs Sapphire R9 270x dual X. Or I miscalculated.

Sapphire r9 270x dualx $194

r9 280 is about 20-40$ cheaper than a 960, and is my recommendation, as it performs the same in most titles, and can beat it in some. That extra gig of vram is helping a lot in newer games, and higher resolutions. It can also overclock into same territory as gtx 770 performance

SAPPHIRE R9 280 3GB DUAL X OC $285
same as GIGABYTE GTX 960 OC,
more expensive than EVGA GTX 960 and
cheaper than ASUS GTX 960

So I think 280 is out of the question. Since I only considered Palitn gtx 960 due to its cheapness. But others are expensive, and significant on my pay grade. But I will upgrade about 1 year.

----------------------------

IS 270X VAPORX PERFORMANCE SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER THAN DUALX for me to spend extra $35?? Consider my gaming lifestyle 720p and 1080p at mid settings for all FPS games. And would like future proof for at least year. Also, will play only 1 hour a day after work, and full whole day at weekends.

Now that you posted the numbers - the Palit 960 $232 looks like a lot better option. Considering Asus and Gigabyte 960s going to 300 or so and the 280s being $285. That Palit should last at least during its warranty period - which i think is 2 years.

I'll consider it though, because right now i'm also considering MSI R9 270X HAWK. It defeats VaporX in cooling, performance and energy consumption. Please correct if I'm wrong. I also like the cool look of MSI.
