For what he does a 4790 non k is fine. I had to overclock my chip past 4.6 before I saw a real difference in any of those applications, and in the end it only saved me like 7sec of rending time going from stock to 4.6 and 4.8. The zed board is only for sli, and the cooler is just because your friend wanted one.
