should i install all available updates? I did update to SP1 or at least in the Windows update section it says that update was downloaded and installed successfully. I will try to download and install all the available updates, anything i should avoid???

yes, install all of the updates. just be sure to reboot after installing any graphics driver update provided by windows update.
IE reboot before you go to AMD or nvidia and install a new graphics driver.
Microsoft's graphics drivers updates require a reboot after the setup is run. AMD and Nvidia do not. if you run both the microsoft update and a AMD or nvidia gpu update during the same session of windows, when you reboot the older microsoft update will over write part of your OEM driver files. The you will get weird problems like a black screen.
