Alright so I need to completely wipe my hard drive to sell it (so it still needs to be functional) but my problem is DBAN and other programs like it want you to boot it from a cd or usb stick have no functioning disc drive on my computer I've also got no usb sticks around so I was wondering if anyone knows a way to wipe my hard drive without a disc or usb drive.

With Windows 8.1, Hold the left SHIFT button, then press restart. This will load a windows troubleshooting section. You can then use the reinstall windows function. If it was installed properly first time round, it shouldn't require any extra data or CDs, nor do you have to do anything too technical. There is a simple wipe or secure (DBAN-Style) wipe feature that you can literally just press and leave. When it is finished, it will go back to factory defaults.

See this guide for more help: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-pc

Hope this helps!
